Description
Oxford X-MET 7000 Express delivers the high performance that is needed when measuring trace elements without compromising on time. It delivers accurate analysis, lower limits of detection, improved precision (repeatability) and faster analysis time.
The X-MET7000 eXpress includes Oxford Instruments’ 40 kV X-ray tube and high resolution, high count rate Silicon-drift detector.
Comes with the largest alloy grades library available on the handheld XRF markets, providing more than 1,600 grades to ensure accurate identification of metals.
X-ray fluorescence (XRF) method – Oxford X-MET 7000 Express
X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instruments work by exposing a sample to be measured to a beam of primary X-rays. The atoms of the sample absorb energy from the X-rays, become temporarily excited and then emit secondary X-rays. Each chemical element emits X-rays at a unique energy. By measuring the intensity and characteristic energy of the emitted X-rays, an XRF analyser can provide qualitative and quantitative
analysis regarding the thickness and composition of the material being tested.
Benefits of handheld XRF analysis:
- Rapid analysis: results in seconds
- Ease of use: simple “point and shoot” operation
- Portability: take the analyser to the sample, not the other way round
- Non-destructive analysis
- No or minimal sample preparation
Ease of use:
- Simple ‘point and shoot’ analysis
- Intuitive, icon-driven user interface
- Largest screen on the market (4.3”) for best visibility
- Large grade name display
- Customisable results screen, including pass/fail messages
Built to last:
- Impact-resistant housing with environmental sealing
- IP54 compliant (equivalent to NEMA 3) for superior protection against dust and water
- Rubber bumpers around screen, nose and battery for protection against shocks and to prevent slipping from uneven surfaces.
